Continuum Coupling and Single-Nucleon Overlap Integrals

The presence of a particle continuum, both of a resonant and non-resonant character, can significantly impact spectroscopic properties of weakly bound nuclei and excited nuclear states close to, and above, the particle emission threshold. In the framework of the continuum shell model in the complex momentum-plane, the so-called Gamow Shell Model, we discuss salient effects of the continuum coup...

Continuum physics with overlap fermions

We calculate mud =(mu+md)/2, ms, fπ and fK in the quenched continuum limit with UV-filtered overlap fermions. We see rather small scaling violations on lattices as coarse as a ≃ 1GeV and conjecture that similar advantages would be manifest in unquenched studies.

Design of an Optimal Overlap Algorithm for Dynamically Coupling Continuum and Noncontinuum Codes in Multiscale Simulation

Different simulation methods are most effective at different length scales, which motivate efforts to simulate overall multi-scale systems by linking multiple simulation codes created by experts at each scale. There are numerous examples where length and time scales are coupled in a serial fashion, where the results from a simulation code are used in another simulation code [1-7]. For example, ...

KK̄ - Continuum and Isoscalar Nucleon Form Factors

We analyse the isoscalar vector current form factors of the nucleon using dispersion relations. In addition to the usual vector meson poles, we account for the K ¯ K-continuum contribution by drawing upon a recent analytic continuation of KN scattering amplitudes. For the Pauli form factor all strength in the φ region is already given by the continuum contribution, whereas for the Dirac form fa...

–nucleon Coupling Constant *

We derive the effective chiral Lagrangian for low-energy η–nucleon and η′– nucleon interactions and show that gluonic degrees of freedom, via the axial UA(1) anomaly, induce a contact term in the pp → ppη and pp → ppη′ reactions. We then discuss the consequences for the extraction of gη′NN from experimental data. ∗Work supported in part by BMBF.
